An assembly robot at Tesla’s Giga Texas factory, which is close to Austin, is said to have malfunctioned and attacked a Tesla engineer. An injury report detailed a horrifying event in which two workers saw a robot attack a colleague, as the Daily Mail reported. The attacking robot was designed to work with newly formed aluminum car components with accuracy and efficiency.
As per the reports, the man was pinning two nearby disabled Tesla robots with software when he was hit by the robot. Its savage grip allowed it to savagely pierce the worker’s arm and back, leaving the factory floor covered in a gory red mark. The victim reportedly suffered a serious injury to his left hand. The attack happened in 2021, and Travis County and federal regulators received an injury report that revealed the details. DailyMail.com claims to have examined the report.
The bleeding Tesla engineer reportedly attempted to escape the assembly robot’s hold, but a colleague intervened swiftly by pressing the emergency “stop” button. After being set free, the engineer unintentionally fell down a chute meant to collect aluminum scrap.
In addition, Tesla failed to notify authorities of any additional robot-related injuries at the Texas factory in 2021 or 2022. This incident takes place in the midst of continuous worries about the possible risks associated with automated robots in the workplace.
