At last, Ski Mask the Slump God has responded to the rumors that Drake was involved in XXXTentacion’s death.
The native of Florida took to his X page on Friday to reply to a post shared earlier in the day by professional boxer Ryan Garcia, which said, “Fuck it, Drake killed X.” The message’s timing was ambiguous, but the conspiracy theory it references emerged following the death of XXX in 2018. When he passed away, he was 20 years old.
After seeing the tweet, Ski Mask decided to disprove the theory, saying that anyone who still held onto it should go outside and breathe in some fresh air.
“Whoever Believe This Stupid Shit Too Deep In The YouTube Conspiracy Rabbit Hole Go Outside Touch Grass My N***a,” Ski Mask tweeted.
In June 2018, XXXTentacion was shot and killed in Deerfield Beach, Florida, close to a motorcycle dealership. Along with other charges related to his death, four suspects were taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. That didn’t stop some from thinking Drake gave the rapper an order to be hit, though.
After his breakthrough single “Look At Me,” in which he rapped with a particular flow that some fans think Drizzy copied for his own song “KMT,” XXX became well-known in 2017. Feeling suspicious, XXX posted a video in which he claimed Drake was stealing his flow.
As if that weren’t enough, three months prior to his passing, XXX tweeted a message that said,
“If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi [Drake]. I’m snitching RN.”
When Drake received a subpoena to appear in a virtual deposition for the case during XXXTentacion’s murder trial last year, the conspiracy theory appeared to gain more traction.
The Toronto celebrity was exempt from having to attend the deposition, though, as Florida judge Michael A. Usan decided that there was insufficient proof linking Drake to the murder. In connection with XXXTentacion’s death, Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome were found guilty and given life sentences.
