A week has passed since Christian Toby Obumseli, 27, was fatally stabbed. Inquiries concerning his previous use of social media, video of his girlfriend Courtney Tailor covered in blood, and a lack of concrete responses from Miami Police regarding the case have all surfaced in recent days. Courtney’s recent whereabouts have now been revealed by a widely circulated video, and she isn’t in a holding cell or mental health facility.
Courtney’s Trip To A Bar
After roughly 30 seconds, the video clip ends. However, there’s enough time to catch a glimpse of Courtney sitting at a bar, clad in a beige cap, jean jacket, and grey army fatigue pants. There was her father, too. A woman reportedly recorded the video on Friday night, according to TMZ. The woman saw Courtney in the Grand Beach Hotel lobby area in Miami, which is roughly 13 miles away from the location of Christian’s April 3 stabbing.
When the video first starts, Courtney can be seen turning her face away from the camera and tugging on her father’s hand, who is standing. The woman who is filming can be heard chatting with the influencer and her father. The woman appears to have been asked to stop filming, but she refused. Instead, she turned to Courtney and her father and said, “Yeah, you should go because you just killed your boyfriend.”
Courtney’s Attorney Insists On Self-Defense
Frank Prieto, Courtney’s lawyer, was verified by TMZ, and it was also confirmed that Courtney was present at the bar with her father. The public, according to the attorney, is telling the wrong story.
It is regrettable that a public figure, who has no knowledge of the circumstances and events leading up to Mr. Obumseli’s death, would seize the chance to harass the Clenney family while they are attempting to show their support for Courtney, in so many words of Frank to TMZ.
And the lawyer for Courtney didn’t end there. Additionally, he claimed that Christian was accountable for Courtney’s “physical, emotional, and mental abuse.” Frank went so far as to say that Courtney could be a “victim of human trafficking.”
According to Courtney, Christian entered her apartment without authorization several times prior to being fatally stabbed last Sunday. However, Christian’s friends have revealed to media outlets like CBS4 Miami that Christian and Courtney lived together in the One Paraiso apartment.
“Courtney acted in self-defense; the investigation by both the City of Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office will conclude such,”
Courtney’s attorney said.
“With that said, we would ask for the public’s understanding about observing the family’s privacy at this time.”
Public Theories Of Murder
However, the public has accepted a different theory in spite of Courtney’s and her attorney’s assertions. Numerous individuals, including Christian’s and Courtney’s friends, have charged the social media personality with Christian’s murder. She is not, however, listed as a suspect by the police. Authorities in Miami have not given any updates. This is still the case even after footage went viral that purportedly showed Courtney covered in what looked like Christian’s blood. There was blood all over her face, arms, chest, stomach, and upper portion of her sweatpants.
As previously mentioned, on April 3, Miami police were called to a domestic dispute. Christian was “suffering from an apparent knife wound” when they arrived. Christian died from his wounds after being taken by emergency personnel to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Reports at the time stated that a woman had been arrested at the scene and taken in for questioning, but that she had since made threats to commit suicide. She was then allegedly put under “psychiatric hold” in order to undergo a mental health assessment.
It seems that Courtney is now free a few days later. No word from the Miami Police Department. And fees? There is no sign of them.
