Sean Combs is facing assault claims and a possible federal sex trafficking case, as well as some significant repercussions. Diddy day has been revoked.
The Miami Herald reports that the Miami Beach Commission has revoked the proclamation declaring October 13th as ‘Sean Diddy Combs Day.
Diddy originally received the honorary recognition from Mayor Phillip Levine at a REVOLT conference in 2016, according to Billboard.
The announcement comes after a federal sex-trafficking investigation that included raids on the Bad Boy mogul’s South Beach mansion three months ago. The Miami Herald reports that the commission revoked the award without engaging in any discussion on June 26.
The city of Miami Beach has decided that the honorary day no longer reflects its values after Diddy’s accusations.
“Upon reflection, the Mayor and City Commission have determined that recognizing October 13, 2016 as ’Sean Diddy Combs Day’ is no longer in harmony with the City’s values of safety, community well-being, and respect, and wish to rescind the proclamation.”
