According to Entertainment Tonight, Andy Cohen is marking the 15th anniversary of his Bravo series, ‘Watch What Happens Live, There are guests from entertainment, politics and pop culture in the live late-night interactive show
Cohen is reflecting on both the highs and lows of his career as he marks this significant milestone. Oprah Winfrey’s 2013 appearance on the show left a lasting impression.
Andy told Entertainment Tonight that it was important to have Oprah on the show.
“This was a huge moment for me and for the show. I’m such a fan of Oprah,” Andy explained.
However, on PEOPLE, Andy said that all was going great until he asked Oprah if she had ever “taken a dip in the lady pond.”
“It meant so much to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show. It’s gone brilliantly and I turn around and ask her if she’s every had sex with a woman. I mean, couldn’t I leave it alone?”
Andy went on to say that the moment and question stood out as one of his few regrets, despite being one he typically asks guests.
The 2013 interview saw Oprah respond to Andy’s question with a direct answer.
“No, no I have not. Thank you.”
The talk show host continued to share more details about his interview with Oprah, mentioning that he got a call from Gayle King shortly afterward.
“Gayle King told me later that week that Oprah didn’t know what I meant by the lady pond. I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was so grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am. That remains, I think, my favorite episode.”

Andy shared his most cringeworthy moment on ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ as well as his favorite guests, including Patti LuPone.
He believes that ‘Watch What Happens Live‘ has maintained its success due to its spontaneity and authenticity.
“The secret to the success of ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ I think, is spontaneity, authenticity, fun, humor, me going there and people never knowing what’s gonna happen. People let their guard down here. It’s also live, we’re on at night, we serve alcohol,” Cohen explained.
