They tied the knot on July 6, 2016, and now they’re celebrating eight years of marriage bliss. According to ELLE, the pop star and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback first connected on March 26, 2015, during a basketball match at the University of Wisconsin.
Russell shared a collection of videos on Instagram to celebrate the major milestone. Clips range from romantic moments to viral red-carpet appearances and sweet moments with their children. The footballer paired the video with Mary J. Blige’s iconic, ‘Sweet Thing,’ and wrote a touching caption.

According to PEOPLE, Ciara got candid about her marriage in an exclusive interview with GQ. The ‘powerful praying’ singer revealed to the outlet that her life spun out exactly how she always imagined it.
“I feel like if I could look back in a crystal ball when I was a little girl, and I looked at the idea of my family, and what it would be for me, it’s exactly this,” Ciara explained.
Russell expressed his gratitude for the blended family they have built, echoing her sentiments.
“Every day I come home from work, and it’s late at night, it’s after film and practice and all that, and me and Ciara are together, and we just smile from ear-to-ear in the kitchen because we realize that our family is a beautiful blended family but it’s also, you know, our family. It’s us.”
