Melania Trump & President Biden React To Trump Rally Shooting
According to CNN, On July 13, Saturday, while giving a speech at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump sustained injuries. About 6:15 p.m., he was giving a campaign speech when several gunshots were heard. ET.
Trump’s right ear was hurt during the incident, and blood was seen running down his face.
Most recently, Melania Trump wrote a letter to her “fellow Americans” in which she made a statement regarding the incident. Melania urged the public to “reunite” in the note.
On social media, a number of politicians responded, including President Joe Biden. Biden expressed his relief that Trump was safe and well in a post on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the news broke. He underlined once more how America must come together to denounce violence.
“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it,” Biden wrote.
AXIOS reports that After the shooting, President Biden spoke with Donald Trump and said that everything should have gone smoothly at the Pennsylvania rally.
“The bottom line is, the Trump rally is a rally that he should have been able to conduct peacefully without any problem. The idea that there’s political violence or violence in America like this, is just unheard of. It’s just not appropriate,” Biden explained.
VP Kamala Harris Releases Public Statement After Trump Rally Shooting
President Biden’s remarks on X regarding the shooting at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally were echoed by Vice President Kamala Harris. She also thanked the US Secret Service, first responders, and other authorities for their prompt action.
“I have been briefed on the shooting at former President Trump’s event in Pennsylvania. Doug and I are relieved that he is not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family, and all those who have been injured and impacted by this senseless shooting. We are grateful to the United States Secret Service, first responders, and local authorities for their immediate action. Violence such as this has no place in our nation. We must all condemn this abhorrent act and do our part to ensure that it does not lead to more violence,” VP Harris wrote.
Barack Obama Expresses Himself After Trump Rally Shooting
Barack Obama offered some remarks on the shooting at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally shortly after it happened. On behalf of Michelle Obama and himself, the former president conveyed relief that Donald Trump had not suffered serious injuries and wished him a quick recovery.
“There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery,” Obama wrote.
What Happened At Donald Trump’s Rally
Reuters reported that Over the weekend, just before he was supposed to accept the official Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump narrowly avoided being assassinated.
CNBC reports that on Saturday, July 13, Trump was swiftly removed from the stage by the Secret Service following gunfire, which finally caused a graze to his ear. According to the outlet, the shooter was identified by the FBI as Pennsylvanian 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was subsequently shot and killed by law enforcement.
Authorities told NBC News that while some attendees are in critical condition, one person died as a result of their injuries.
According to video obtained by CBNC, Trump can be seen dropping to the ground and instinctively touching his right ear. With blood evident on the right side of his head, Secret Service agents apprehended him swiftly and led him to his car.
