About midway through the lengthy talk, Diddy’s legal issues come into focus.
Ice Cube said he wasn’t surprised by Puff’s alleged violent behavior when the podcast host asked him to discuss it. He referred to the hip-hop industry as the “wild west” and said he wasn’t surprised about what the Harlem artist was going through. Ice Cube asserted that the founder of Bad Boys Entertainment was being singled out after this.

Ice Cube acknowledged later in the video that he hadn’t looked into Diddy’s allegations too much, but he had seen that Puff was “cool up until a point, and this stuff started happening.
Diddy Faces Legal Crisis
After Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie sued him in November 2023 at the Manhattan Federal District Court, his reputation suffered greatly. The singer charged him with physical assault, sex trafficking, and rape. A day later, Diddy settled the lawsuit. Other alleged victims of Diddy have since come forward. The once-respected rapper is now the target of eight lawsuits and a purported sex-trafficking probe.
Diddy lost a number of honors after CNN published graphic footage of him physically abusing singer Cassie on May 17, 2016, including his honorary degree from Howard University and a key to the city of New York. Diddy is still facing criticism on Instagram even after he publicly apologized to Cassie in a since-deleted video.
Danyel Smith, the former Editor-in-Chief of Vibe, recently criticized Puff in a piece that appeared in The New York Times on July 12. In the long article, she disclosed that, when she refused to let Diddy change the cover photo for the magazine’s December 1997/January 1998 issue, he allegedly threatened to see her “dead in the trunk of a car.”
