According to FOX Carolina, an assistant manager at a Burger King in South Carolina was fired and placed under arrest after it was reported by the police that she served fries to customers straight out of the trash can.
According to authorities, Jaime Christine Major, 39, was detained and accused of purposefully tampering with human food in connection with the incident on July 9.

Police were called in Union, initially due to disturbances.
Due to a disturbance, the BK manager and a witness called 911 to the Union restaurant located on Duncan Bypass.
After witnessing an employee give them soiled french fries, they discovered two women—identified as Shantel Elizabeth Harris and Ivory Lakeisha Muhammad—loudly arguing with employees.
According to the outlet, the women were instructed to calm down by a responding officer, but they refused, according to the authorities.
According to the Daily Mail, a police report revealed that Harris, 37, and Muhammad, 39, were “two black females using body language pointing at employees that indicated they were angry about something.” On suspicion of disorderly conduct, police detained both women.
Followup Complaint Leads To Assistant Manager’s Arrest For Serving Dirty Fries From Trash Can
The precise Burger King location was the subject of a complaint from headquarters to the police on July 11.
The caller reported that an employee had served fries to customers after tossing them into a trash can. According to the outlet, Major removed the fries from the trash and put them in the fryer.
After an arrest warrant was issued, Major was eventually taken into custody by police, according to the New York Post. Her $20,000 bond was set by the judge, according to online court records.
As of Thursday, July 20, she remained in custody, according to court documents. According to the State, if found guilty, she could spend up to 20 years behind bars.
Major has since been fired by Burger King, according to the Daily Mail.
“These allegations do not align to the brand’s commitment to quality food and service and creating an exceptional Guest experience,” a Burger King spokesperson told Fox Business.
In the end, authorities named Muhammad and Harris as victims in Major’s case. It’s unclear if the women’s disorderly conduct charges will be dropped by the prosecutors.
Burger King Reacts To Manager’s Alleged Actions
As previously indicated, HQ filed a report on the manager and informed Fox Business of the incident.
“These allegations do not align to the brand’s commitment to quality food and service nad creating an exceptional Guest experience,” BK spokesperson said. “The Franchisee of this restaurant is cooperating with local authorities and will take appropriate action based on the findings,” the statement said. “As this remains an ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time.”
