On Sunday, June 23, Florida rapper Julio Foolio was killed while celebrating his 26th birthday.
According to the New York Post, the performer was ambushed after disclosing his party location on social media.
Two days after Foolio—born Charles Jones—was gunned down in Tampa while having a celebration. He invited people to a pool party at his Airbnb earlier in the day via his Instagram Stories. Jones instructed his listeners to “DM me for the address.” But Lewis Fuso, his lawyer, claimed he “was asked to leave due to exceeding occupancy limits.”
Fusco stated Foolio then “relocated to the Holiday Inn” and was “reportedly ambushed.”Authorities say that when the attackers opened fire, Jones and the other three victims—all of whom made it out alive—were seated in their cars in the parking lot. At this point, there are no suspects despite law enforcement looking through surveillance footage.
First Coast News reports that the rapper’s history of violence may be connected to this incident. According to reports, he belonged to the KTA gang in Jacksonville. The gang is said to have a history of animosity with rival gangs in the neighborhood. In a gang-related shooting in 2018, Foolio lost his cousin. His relative was present at Charles’ brother’s birthday celebration. In addition, Foolio was shot at his recording studio in Jacksonville in 2021. But the bullet had only scraped him. After the shooting, he continued to taunt the gunmen, saying “Y’all miss a whole 100 shots literally.”
