The Former Pro Baller Has Shared About His Interest In Nail Care
Wade had an exclusive interview with Highsnobiety earlier this year. According to US Weekly, the 42-year-old revealed in his interview with the publication that he has been painting his nails since 2007.
“I’ve been getting my nails painted since 2007,” he reportedly explained. “I always knew that’s what I wanted to do: I wanted to be one of them sharp-dressed men who smelled good, who stayed clean-shaved, and all that.”
The outlet claims that Wade was open about how fellow NBA player LeBron James responded to his interest in nail care. Wade allegedly discussed it in detail in a 2011 GQ interview.
“Three years ago, I was like, ‘Man, I kind of want to paint my toenails black,’” Wade recalled to the outlet. “Later, I was on vacation in the Bahamas with LeBron, and when he saw my toes, he was like, ‘Something is seriously wrong with you.’”
In the end, Wade clarified that James changed his mind about the proposal. He did, however, add that over time, he stopped caring as much about what other people thought.
“But eventually Bron was like, ‘You know what? You’re crazy, but that’s just you,’” Wade continued. “When I first got into the league, I tried to fit in. Now I don’t care.”
