In Serena Williams‘ household, nothing is wasted, particularly not her breast milk.
On Wednesday, December 20, the two-time mother and retired tennis champion posted a video to her Instagram account that chronicled her experience nursing. She had returned from a trip to New York just now.
In August, Williams welcomed her second child, Adira, into the world. She shares her daughter with Alexis Ohanian. Williams made the decision not to bring the milk home with her since she had returned to pumping milk for her baby and their stay in the Big Apple was coming to an end. She would be giving it to a mother in need instead. Williams shared a brief video with her fans in which she displayed several freezer-ready packs of breast milk that were just waiting to be sealed and given to a mother and her child.
She wrote a caption to go along with the video explaining that she would be giving away her milk because she had just passed a screening.
“I had leftover breast milk on a recent trip to NY,” Williams wrote. I was able to donate it after passing through screening as opposed to taking the milk home. I know so many incredible women who are either unmilkable or adopted. It was an incredible feeling. By the way, someone is receiving milk for super soldiers out there.
Williams expressed her excitement about giving breast milk “to people who really need it” and ended the video by expressing her excitement about being of assistance.
Serena Williams Uses Her Breast Milk To Treat Sunburns!
Williams shared a video on TikTok on December 2nd, in which she showed how to use her own breast milk as an unusual face mask.
She remarked, “They say to put breast milk on everything, and I have a lot extra, so I’m going to try it under my eyes for about a week.”
@serenaOk is this totally weird??? I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye – it worked! I’m dying to hear your thoughts. Be nice lol 🙈 #momsoftiktok #fyp #foryourpage #serenawilliams #life #beauty #motherhood #momhumour #moms
Williams continued by explaining that the combination of her sensitive skin and the direct sunlight after applying a skin care product caused sunburn under her eyes.
She gives the breast milk bottle a good shake in the TikTok video before taking a small amount and dabbing the area under her eyes with a tissue.
Williams acknowledged the efficacy of the treatment in the video’s caption, writing, “After a week of applying MY breast milk around my eyes, the results were visible!”
