A man suspected of armed robbery fled from police on Wednesday while his girlfriend and their young child were in the backseat, and he live streamed the pursuit on Instagram.
The individual they detained is one of three suspects in an armed robbery that occurred in Beverly Hills, according to information provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to the L.A. Times on Wednesday.
The man driving live streamed from behind the wheel while news helicopters recorded from the outside, and it appears that he caught every bit of tension from the claustrophobic vehicle.
Watch the video; the woman yells at him to stop the car and begs him to think of their child, all the while the man seems to be desperately trying to find the next street to go down.
The man declares he doesn’t want to return to jail, while the woman alternately begs, chastises, and just sobs. She motions for him to stop and turn himself in to the police. The driver eventually does just that, but it requires a lot of persuasion.
The man pulls over, gets out, gives the woman and the child hugs and kisses, then bends down. He is handcuffed by the police, who then remove him, the woman, and the child.
The suspect was picked up by his girlfriend and led police on a high-speed chase across the City of Angels until they apprehended him on a dead-end street in a West Los Angeles neighborhood, according to the officers, who say they arrested two men immediately after the robbery.
