"Grown Black Men" Are Called Out by Damson Idris for Their Ground

Snowfall star Damson Idris took to Instagram to call out "grown Black men" for their "unprovoked hatred" toward Black women, delivering a powerful message that resonated across social media. The British actor shared the statement on his Instagram Stories, and fans immediately applauded him for speaking up.

Damson Idris Calls Out Black Men For Hatred Toward Black Women

Damson did not hold back in his message, addressing the issue head on.

"I see so much unprovoked hatred towards black women today by predominantly grown black men. Especially towards our young stars that are just trying to do their thing. The compulsion to humble these women perhaps makes you feel like more of a man. I promise you, you aren't men to us. A new year is approaching. Grow up."

According to The Shade Room, social media users praised Idris for the message, with one commenter writing, "Somebody had to say it. A man's job at minimum is to protect. Protect women, protect your Black women." The post quickly went viral, with fans sharing it across platforms and calling on more men in the entertainment industry to speak up.

Megan Thee Stallion Has Spoken About The Same Issue

Damson's message came at a time when several Black female entertainers had publicly spoken about the unfair treatment they face online. Most notably, Megan Thee Stallion opened up about the severe psychological toll she endured during and after the Tory Lanez trial. After Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan, the rapper wrote a deeply personal essay for Elle describing her mental health struggles.

"The truth is that I started falling into a depression. I didn't feel like making music. I was in such a low place that I didn't even know what I wanted to rap about. I wondered if people even cared anymore. There would be times that I'd literally be backstage or in my hotel, crying my eyes out, and then I'd have to pull Megan Pete together and be Megan Thee Stallion."

Megan's candid words highlighted the double standard that Black women in entertainment often face, where they are expected to perform and entertain while simultaneously being torn apart online by the very community that should be supporting them.

Damson Idris Had Recently Split From Lori Harvey

While the specific reason behind Damson's message was not confirmed, the actor had been dealing with the fallout from his split with model Lori Harvey. The couple announced their breakup after one year together in a joint statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We are at a point in our lives where our individual paths require our full attention and dedication. We part ways remaining friends with nothing but love and respect for each other and the time we shared together."

Since the split in 2023, Damson has not publicly commented further on the relationship. Regardless of what prompted the Instagram message, his words struck a chord with fans who have long called for more Black men in the public eye to stand up and defend Black women against the constant barrage of online hate.
