According to court documents that the outlet was able to obtain, Nelly and Ashanti were married on December 27, 2023.
According to the outlet, the location of the musicians’ official marriage ceremony was not mentioned in the records. But according to TMZ, their union is officially registered in St. Louis County.
Note that the state in which the marriage was registered is not mentioned specifically in the outlet’s report. But “all signs point to them doing the deed in Nelly’s hometown,” it says. According to Universal Music Enterprises, Nelly is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. Nelly, meanwhile, was born in Austin, Texas, according to Blackpast.

“It was just such a beautiful, intimate moment,” she said. “We were not dressy… It was very, like, I had absolutely no idea… I gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever. I FaceTimed everyone I know… I was overjoyed and shocked and surprised and happy kind of like all in one.”
Ashanti confirmed during the chat that she will give birth prior to her and Nelly’s wedding. She went so far as to say that she would love to get married by the beach with “sunshine and palm trees.”
