The post was immediately followed by a slew of speculation, with fans questioning if Akbar is referring to a recent fallout with a friend or perhaps even a public figure.

Theories and Suspicions

While Akbar didn’t name names, her followers were quick to speculate. Some suggested it could be about a recent drama with a fellow Love & Hip Hop cast member, while others believe it might be tied to her ongoing beef with certain industry insiders. “Akbar always getting involved in other people’s mess, and now she’s feeling the heat,” commented one follower. “She should’ve just stayed in her lane.”

MJ Akbar denies allegations, wife backs him

New Delhi: MJ Akbar and his wife have denied the rape allegations levelled against the former Union Minister by journalist Pallavi Gogoi, with Akbar insisting that his relationship with the journalist was “consensual”, ANI reports.

Supporting her husband’s stand, the BJP MP’s wife Mallika said that Pallavi has never been a victim of sexual harassment.

The former minister, who recently resigned after several complaints of sexual harassment, has been accused of fresh rape by a journalist. Earlier this morning, Pallavi Gogoi wrote in The Washington Post that Akbar raped her 23 years ago while working under him.

“When the ‘#MeToo’ wave was targeting my husband, Mr. MJ Akbar, I remained silent. However, Pallavi Gogoi’s article in The Washington Post compelled me to speak the truth because I know it,” she added.

Mallika also said that Akbar’s relationship with Gogoi had created tension, but Pallavi never seemed to act under pressure.

“Our colleagues who work closely with us are ready to testify that Pallavi Gogoi was never under pressure,” she said.
“Two decades ago, Pallavi Gogoi had created unrest in our home. I had witnessed her and my husband’s involvement through her phone calls and public displays of affection in my presence. Her actions were upsetting and disturbing to our family. At an Asian Age party at our residence, surrounded by young journalists, I saw her dancing up close. That was when I confronted my husband, and he chose to put our family first,” she added.

Jaipur Literature Festival begins with insightful discussion. A thought-provoking discussion was organised on the first day of the Jaipur Literature Festival: How Mughal emperors and contemporary politicians used religion to attract people. Speakers Manimugdha Sharma and Supriya Gandhi explored the reigns of Mughal rulers Akbar and Dara Shikoh in a session. Manimugdha, who has written a book on Akbar, said, “Akbar highlighted the slogan of Allah-hu Akbar, which indirectly elevated his image and resonated with the people.”

Dara Shikoh and Historical Insights

William Dalrymple noted in a conversation with the authors that Akbar, whether out of curiosity or political motives, showed respect for all religions. He asked whether it was appropriate to call him a secular ruler. Manimugdha disagreed. “The word secular applies in modern times. We can call him tolerant, but not secular,” she said.

Supriya Gandhi, referring to her book, said that Dara Shikoh, like his predecessors, experimented extensively with religion. He studied religion objectively and followed the approach of earlier rulers. “He was a philosopher who aspired to rule, but political circumstances prevented him from fulfilling his dream,” she added.

While Dalrymple pointed out that many historians have criticised Akbar for using a large Hindu army to conquer the southern states, Manimugdha denied that there was any such strategy.
