In a jaw-dropping scene straight out of a movie, a suspect in Los Angeles, California, managed to stop for gas in the middle of a high-speed police chase—and still evade capture. The incident occurred on Friday, August 22, 2025, leaving authorities and witnesses stunned.
The pursuit began in the Wilshire area when Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers attempted to pull over a dark blue Infiniti 250 sedan reported stolen earlier that day. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly reached speeds of up to 100 mph, weaving through traffic and driving recklessly on freeway shoulders.
Shockingly, the suspect pulled into a Shell gas station at Imperial Highway and Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood. Surveillance footage captured the driver calmly pumping gas, seemingly unfazed by the pursuing officers. After refueling, the chase resumed across freeways and surface streets, continuing the dangerous pursuit.

The dramatic chase concluded when the suspect abandoned the vehicle under the 10 Freeway overpass at Alameda Street near the Fashion District. The car rolled into a light pole, but the driver disappeared without a trace. Authorities suspect the individual may have been picked up by an accomplice or may have stolen another vehicle to make their escape.
The LAPD continues to investigate and has urged anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.
This unbelievable scenario has sparked widespread attention online, with videos of the chase going viral. It’s a reminder of the daring and sometimes reckless decisions some individuals make when attempting to evade law enforcement.
