DENVER (AP) — Eugene Robertson, who threatened a Burger King drive-thru worker after she refused to pay him and then opened fire on others that night, has been sentenced to 143 years in prison. Prosecutors explained in announcing the sentence Thursday that the drive-thru incident was the beginning of a series of crimes Robertson committed in Aurora, a suburb of Denver, on Oct. 17, 2022. Fortunately, no one was injured.

In April, a jury convicted Robertson of 17 counts, including eight counts of attempted murder. The court imposed several sentences, resulting in a lengthy prison sentence. Robertson, 40, was sentenced to more than 400 years when he was sentenced on Aug. 9.
