The laptop evidence in the murder trial of
Courtney Clenney was excluded by the judge. The former model for OnlyFans is charged with killing her ex-boyfriend Christian "
Toby" Obumseli by stabbing him in 2022.
Judge Laura Cruz ruled, according to
TMZ, that
Courtney's parents, attorneys, and discussion about
Obumseli's laptop passcode could not be presented.
Evidence on Courtney Clenney's laptop was destroyed.
According to
NBC Miami, the Miami-Dade official announced her decision on June 26 and found that the defense had breached attorney-client privilege. Judge
Cruz decided that because those conversations took place between
Deborah, Kim (
Courtney's father), and their attorneys, they could not be admitted into evidence.
According to
CBS News,
Deborah Clenney and
Kim Dewayne were taken into custody in January 2024 on suspicion of possessing
Obumesli's laptop. The parents were accused by the prosecutors of having illegal access to a computer, computer system, or electronic device.
Courtney was also charged with second-degree murder in addition to the other charges. Later, her parents were set free. But a warrant ordering their surrender by March 2024 was issued. They were freed once more after posting bond in February.
Following Chrisitan Obumseli's stabbing death, Clenney was arrested.
The Talk Lounge has previously revealed that in August 2022, Clenney was charged and taken into custody in connection with
Stabbing Her Boyfriend Christian Obumseli To Death –
Neighbors reportedly heard a domestic dispute between the couple on April 3, 2022, and reported it to the police.
Clenney admitted stabbing
Obumseli with a knife. Her attorney later claimed that it was self-defense.
She was not detained at the crime scene following the incident. Instead, when Clenney was finally taken into custody by the police, it was reported that she was being treated for PTSD and drug abuse at a Hawaii-based rehab center.
Prior to the stabbing,
Courtney was seen punching
Christian in an elevator in the February 2021 video. Just before
Obumseli, she enters the elevator and makes an effort to choose a floor. She seems irritated, and
Christian tries to reassure her.
Clenney repeatedly tugs her boyfriend's hair, acting as though she is furious.
Obumseli seems to be pushing
Courtney back in an effort to defuse the situation.
It is unknown at this point in
Clenney's trial whether the prosecution will press charges against her parents. Furthermore, a judge will disclose on June 28 how the decision will impact the entire trial.
